Our Journey on A New Life in the Sun
We’re incredibly excited to share that our journey has been featured on Channel 4’s A New Life in the Sun.
For anyone who hasn’t seen the show before, A New Life in the Sun follows people who leave the UK to start a completely new chapter of their lives in Europe. It documents the reality of creating a new life abroad — the exciting moments, the unexpected challenges, and everything in between.
Taking the Leap
Our decision to start a new life here wasn’t something that happened overnight. Like many people who appear on the show, it began with an idea that slowly turned into a plan, and eventually into a big leap into the unknown.
Moving countries, opening a business and starting a family is a huge adventure. There are plenty of things you can plan for, but there are many surprises along the way!
Taking part in A New Life in the Sun was something we never expected, but it’s been such a unique experience to have parts of our story captured on film.
Filming the Experience
Filming took place over seven months throughout the summer of 2025, following us welcoming our first guests at Chateau de Pomiro, whilst continuing with renovations. Having cameras around was definitely something to get used to, but the production team were fantastic and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
Of course, television only shows a small glimpse of what actually happens behind the scenes. There are many more hours of work and planning, than can fit into five episode! But it’s been wonderful to share at least part of the experience with viewers.
